Supplements
As nutritionists, we consistently advocate for a food-first approach to meet the nutritional needs of athletes. However, in special cases where supplementation is necessary, only products approved by certified authorities such as Informed Sport, Sport Integrity Australia, or HASTA are recommended. These supplements are verified to be free of banned substances, as outlined by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), ensuring both safety and compliance with anti-doping regulations.

Other Services
This project aims to evaluate athletes’ body composition, nutritional requirements, biochemical parameters, and overall health through a range of specialized tests and measurements conducted by experts in relevant fields. Following a comprehensive analysis, detailed reports are provided to the athletes to help enhance their current performance levels. Additionally, any identified nutritional deficiencies or diagnosed medical conditions are addressed through targeted supplementation programs and referrals to appropriate medical clinics for further care.

The program is conducted in sports schools across the island, as well as in schools with the highest-performing medal-winning athletes. Its primary aim is to optimize nutritional and health-related knowledge through targeted awareness sessions, regular body composition assessments, and medical checkups. This initiative is supported by the medical staff of the Institute of Sports Medicine and consultants from the Sri Lanka Medical Nutrition Society. The ultimate goal is to develop a comprehensive national nutrition guideline specifically tailored for school athletes.

The nutrition division offers a variety of educational programs, including webinars, workshops, and lectures, tailored to the needs of island-wide sports coaches, athletes, physical fitness trainers, and even parents of athletes. These initiatives focus on the importance of proper nutrition and hydration practices before, during, and after exercise or training sessions, ensuring optimal performance and recovery.
