The Institute of Sports Medicine proudly inaugurated its Human Performance Biomechanics Laboratory and launched its official website in a landmark ceremony officiated by Hon. Sunil Kumara Gamage, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The Human Performance Biomechanics Laboratory is set to become one of the most sophisticated facilities in the Asian region, equipped with state-of-the-art technology to analyze biomechanics, improve athletic performance, and prevent injuries. This groundbreaking initiative will provide Sri Lanka’s national athletes with access to advanced performance assessment and support services, helping them compete at the highest international levels.
Moreover, the lab will empower sports scientists and researchers by creating opportunities for high-quality, data-driven research and innovation in the field of human performance and sports medicine.
Alongside the lab, the newly launched official website of the Institute enhances accessibility to information, training programs, educational materials, and research updates, strengthening the Institute’s outreach to athletes, coaches, and the wider public.
These initiatives represent a major advancement in Sri Lanka’s sports science infrastructure, reaffirming the Institute of Sports Medicine’s commitment to promoting athlete health, performance, and scientific excellence in sport.
